Medical Staff

Dr. Richard M. Carpenter
Dr. Carpenter is a 1974 graduate of Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine. He practiced in Iowa until 1986 and then relocated to Virginia where he was an Assistant Professor for the University of Virginia Medical School. In 1997 he established his first practice in Ft. Myers. He is a member and officer for the Caloosa Veterinary Society of Lee County, Board member for the Animal Rescue Center, a no-kill shelter, and a member of AVMA and FVMA.

Dr. Terrence Osborn
Dr.Osborn received his BS and MS degrees in Wildlife Conservation from the University of Missouri in 1967. He earned his DVM degree from the University of Illinois in 1972 after which he completed a 2 year internship in a small animal practice in Chicago.
In 1975, he opened and managed a 3 doctor practice in Chicago until he retired in 2008. Retiring to the Ft. Myers area, he is married and has 2 grown children who also live in the Ft. Myers area.
Dr. Osborn enjoys fishing, hunting, golfing and other outdoor activities.

Rafael Cartelli
In 1997, Rafael completed his DVM degree at the Federal University of Parana (UFPR), Brazil. In 2000 he completed his MS in Veterinary Sciences at the same university. He worked for the UFPR Teaching Hospital and spent several years engaged in wildlife research. He owned a veterinary practice in Brazil for 2 years prior to his relocation to the United States. His interests lean toward Endocrinology and Animal Dentistry. He is currently scheduled to take his national exams for U.S. Certification.
Rafael is married with 2 children. He owns a dog and 2 cats.
Administrative Staff

Lee Hanley, C.O.O.
Lee is a graduate of the University of Tennessee majoring in industrial psychology and business management. Relocating to Florida in 1990 with wife Vicki, Lee worked with state and county governments until 1999. Lee has also acted as intergration coordinator and practice manager for the Lee Memorial Health System.

Buttons Carpenter, Hospital Administrator
Buttons, wife of Dr. Carpenter has worked directly with Dr. Carpenter since 1988. She and Dr. Carpenter opened their first practice in Ft. Myers in 1997. She is a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the FVMA. She was voted Team Member of the Year by the FL Veterinary Assoc. in 2008.

Angie Armshaw, Office Manager
Transplanted from Virginia in 2006, Angie has been in management in the pet/pet supply industry for over 10 years. She bolsters 16 in home pets to include: cats, dogs, reptiles and birds as well as volunteering for local animal causes. She is currently pursuing her Vet Tech degree from St. Petersburg Jr. College.

Ashley Brincku, Pet Groomer
Ashley has been with our clinic since May 2009 and is currently building an excellent reputation as a superb groomer. She enjoys working with all animals both large and small. She is the owner of cats, dogs, and horses.

Wesley Ramsey, Kennel Master
Wesley has been a member of clinics associated with the Carpenters since 1997. Wesley is well known for his compassion and ability to handle "uncooperative" pets.
